RESIDENTIAL
MADISON STREET
We measure successful projects on the size of the impact, not the size of the scope. Impactful renovations don’t always require extensive additions. This project is a testament to the powers of natural light and a good material palette.
With some modest reconfiguration, larger windows and a skylight, we helped to transform this kitchen from dark and cramped to light-filled and inviting.
As part of the renovation to this basement level family room, we removed the white dropped ceiling, and painted the exposed wood structure a near-black color. Seems counterintuitive, but the dark ceiling recedes from view and helps a short space feel more expansive.
